10 Day Family Sun in the North

Today is the first day of your incredible North Island family adventure. Check into your hotel in Auckland and spend the afternoon/night at leisure to experience this incredible city.

This morning you will begin your scenic drive up North. Discover charming towns enjoy coastal views before arriving in picturesque Paihia, your gateway to the Bay of Islands, where pristine beaches and cultural treasures await your discovery.

Today you will embark on an epic coastal adventure. Drive along the shores of Ninety Mile Beach as the waves crash beside your custom-built coach. Feel the sand between your toes and the salt spray on your face. Your off-road journey continues up Te Paki Stream, stopping at the massive sand dunes where you can experience the thrills and spills of sand surfing.

Clambering up and surfing down the dunes (if you dare!) is sure to get your heart pumping. Visit Cape Reinga and hear the stories of this significant site where, according to Māori legend, spirits depart on their journey home to Hawaiki. Enjoy spectacular panoramic views, visit the iconic lighthouse, and see the point where the Tasman Sea and the mighty Pacific Ocean come crashing together.

Spend your last day in Paihia at leisure. Start with a morning beachcombing session, build sandcastles, and paddle in the Pacific. Today you will make the scenic drive back to Auckland where you will spend one night before embarking towards your next coastal destination – Pauanui.

Embark on a picturesque journey as you drive from bustling Auckland to the serene coastal paradise of Pauanui. Wind your way through lush landscapes and charming towns, enjoying the scenic route. Upon arrival, unwind on Pauanui Beach, explore the Coromandel Peninsula, and savor the relaxed coastal lifestyle.

Embark on an incredible full day nature and coastal tour today. Covering all the scenic highlights of the Coromandel Peninsula as well as visiting some special locations only known to locals, this Nature and Coast Tour is a delightful sample of the Coromandel Peninsula’s natural heritage and scenic beauty. Enjoy an easy walk-through nature on the forgotten paths of an old town. Visit an old historic gold cave, now home to sparkling glow worms.
